AI Agents are virtual assistants that you can create and customize to handle specific tasks for your business. They're powered by advanced AI technology and can be trained to assist with various functions.

Creating Your First Agent

Follow these step-by-step instructions to create your first AI agent.

Navigate to AI Agent Builder

Go to the AI Agents page by clicking "AI Agents" in the navigation menu or visiting /ai-agents.

Click "Create New Agent"

Look for the "Create New Agent" button at the top of the page and click it. A form will appear.

Fill in Agent Details

Complete the form with the following information:

  • Agent Name: A friendly name for your agent (e.g., "Customer Support Bot")
  • Role: Choose Support, Sales, Operations, or Admin
  • Description: Describe what your agent should do
  • Tone: Choose Friendly, Professional, or Direct

Submit the Form

Click "Create Agent" to save your new agent. You'll see a success notification and your agent will appear in the dashboard.

Activate Your Agent

By default, new agents are created as "Drafts." Click the "Activate" button on your agent card to make it ready for use.

Running Your Agents

Once you've created and activated an agent, you can run it to perform tasks. Here's how.

How to Run an Agent

    Scroll to Agent Execution Monitor

    Find the "Agent Execution Monitor" section on the AI Agents page. This is where you run your agents.

    Select an Agent

    Click the dropdown menu and select one of your active agents. Only "Active" agents appear in this list.

    Click "Run Agent"

    Click the green "Run Agent" button. The button will change to show a loading state.

    Watch the Execution

    The console will display real-time logs showing what's happening:

    • • Starting the agent...
    • • Connecting to AI backend...
    • • Generating system prompt...
    • • Sending request to OpenAI...
    • • Response received!

    View Results

    Once completed, you'll see the execution stats (tasks completed, tools used, time) and an output file will be generated.

Understanding Execution Results

Metric Description
Status Shows "Running", "Completed", or "Error"
Tasks Completed Number of tasks the agent performed
Tools Used Number of tools the agent utilized
Execution Time Total time taken to complete the task

What Happens Next?

After running an agent, an output file is automatically created. You can view, download, or delete these files in the "Daily Output Files" section. The AI response is saved and can be reviewed at any time!

Troubleshooting Tips

Having issues? Here are solutions to common problems.

Agent Won't Run

Possible Causes:

  • • Agent is not activated (still in Draft status)
  • • Backend server is not running
  • • OpenAI API key is not configured

Solutions:

  • • Click "Activate" on your agent card
  • • Check that the backend deployment is active
  • • Verify OPENAI_API_KEY is set in deployment variables

Error Connecting to Backend

Possible Causes:

  • • Backend URL is incorrect
  • • Server is down or restarting
  • • Network connectivity issues

Solutions:

  • • Verify backend URL in the JavaScript code
  • • Check Railway/Replit deployment status
  • • Try refreshing the page

Data Not Saving

Possible Causes:

  • • Browser localStorage is full
  • • Private/Incognito mode is being used
  • • Browser cache was cleared

Solutions:

  • • Use regular browser mode (not incognito)
  • • Don't clear browser data/cookies
  • • Export important data regularly
